The postgraduate certificate stage introduces you to coaching and mentoring and the core practices needed to become an effective practitioner. You develop practical skills through coaching demonstrations and substantial coaching practice. You also reflect on your progress as a learner and practitioner, and are supported with reflective practice approaches and supervision.
The MSc stage enables you to become a ethical and critically reflexive practitioner, able to operate effectively as a coach or mentor in a range of different contexts. In addition, you gain the knowledge and skills to engage in research-based inquiry into the theory and practice of coaching and mentoring to enhance the range and depth of your coaching practice.
The postgraduate certificate stage is accredited by the EMCC at Senior Practitioner level. We are the only UK university to offer this.
The course is unique in the market in that it examines how a coach or mentor can best work with an individual in the context of their organisational system. We draw on theories and case studies, and examine individual and organisational psychology.
We help you develop your own practice as a coach or mentor. This involves examining our presence and approaches as well as commercial matters such as business development and networking.
The course is delivered by a team of nationally renowned tutors who are specialists in the field.
You have the opportunity to study emerging areas such as team coaching and applied practice.
We also provide one-to-one coaching supervision throughout the programme to help you reflect on your own personal development and gauge the effectiveness and ethics of your work.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring level is primarily focused on developing students' professional practice to meet the professional expectations of the EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) at Senior Practitioner level. Students successfully completing the Postgraduate Certificate will be entitled to a certificate confirming that they have completed a programme of training accredited by the EMCC at Senior Practitioner level.
Part-time – typically eight months for the postgraduate certificate and two years for the MSc.
Modules are taught in four day blocks, with approximately eight weeks between each one.
For the Postgraduate Certificate you complete an induction day and the following four modules. You also complete 90 hours of off-workshop coaching/mentoring practice.

The dissertation provides an opportunity to undertake in-depth research into a topic of your own choice in the field of coaching and mentoring, supported by your research supervisor. You work at your own pace, meeting with your research supervisor by mutual agreement.

The Henley MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change is unique in its emphasis on the organisational context for coaching, and for the inclusion of a practitioner research project as an integral part of the programme.
This course is designed for those who are using, and intend to develop further, a coaching approach either in a line management role or as a professional freelance executive coach. It is also intended for managers who may be seeking to build a business-focused coaching culture within their organisations.

These two modules typically take nine months, involve three 2-day residential workshops for the Certificate and two 3-day plus one 4-day workshops for the Neuroscience and Psychology module. Includes modules in Advanced Coaching Practice, Group Dynamics & Systems Thinking, and Becoming a Reflective Practitioner. This stage takes around nine months, involves six 3-day residential workshops. This stage is assessed through a variety of reflective assignments.
Note: Coaching supervision workshops take place during Stage 2. They review different models of coaching supervision, offer practice in coaching supervision skills and enable you to receive coaching supervision in a small group.
Includes the research project and a personal project. This stage would typically take around nine months and involves two written assignments - one of 15,000 words and one of 5,000 words.
On this part-time MA in Coaching and Mentoring Practice course you will integrate your prior work and life experiences with the theoretical concepts underpinning coaching and mentoring. You will expand your knowledge and understanding of theories and then relate that understanding to the skills and approaches necessary to develop professionally as a coach or mentor. This will help to inform your models and modes of practice and lead to interesting and useful research. With the support of a unique blend of tutor input and individual coach-supervisor support, you will apply your knowledge to a variety of working contexts.
As well as an internationally recognised qualification from Oxford Brookes University, you can also gain fast track ‘Professional Member’ entry to theAssociation of Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision (APECS)
This course is aimed at internal or external coaches, consultants, mentor co-ordinators, coaching psychologists, counsellors, managers, human resources development or leadership professionals from the voluntary, public and private sectors. It is not always necessary to have a degree, as long as you have an appropriate level of experience.

This part-time course consists of seven modules of study amounting to 180 credits. You will study the certificate stage (three 20-credit modules), through to the diploma stage (three further 20-credit modules) and finally a master's dissertation (60 credits). Should you wish, you are able to step off the programme at the end of the certificate or diploma stages and graduate with that award.
After successfully completing these three modules, you may leave the programme and graduate with a Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring Practice.

It involves a piece of investigative research which focuses on a research problem of particular interest to you and is often work-based.
After successfully completing your dissertation, you will graduate with an MA in Coaching and Mentoring Practice.
This programme is taught through a series of Friday or Saturday seminars and workshops (approximately one a month). We use a variety of teaching and learning methods designed to enable you to develop active learning techniques, reflect on practice and undertake independent research. You can choose Friday or Saturday as your preferred day of attendance.
Approximately 50% of the programme is delivered online in the Oxford Brookes virtual learning environment through which you can discuss, debate and support each other in your studies. You are encouraged to communicate electronically with your supervisor and tutors (eg by email, Skype, etc).
All teaching, learning and assessment activities draw on the professional backgrounds, experience and knowledge of all participants and encourage critical reflection. Teaching staff have research interests and expertise in coaching and mentoring and related fields. Visiting speakers from business and industry provide further input. You can attend events from the Oxford Brookes Coaching and Mentoring Society (OBCAMS), which meets monthly, and attracts outside speakers and presenters from all areas of coaching and mentoring.
All assessment is based on a variety of coursework assignments and a dissertation - there are no exams.

Sheffield Hallam University is accredited by the UK Coaching Standards Group to work with National Governing Bodies of Sport to deliver a UKCC Level 4 coaching programme.
The course comprises of four learning strands which have been identified as fundamental to the development of advanced sport coaching practice. Modules are designed within these overarching strands, which are developed throughout your studies.

The sport coaching industry is driven by the UK Coaching Framework and this course provides the ideal springboard to gain employment in this dynamic area.
