Aberdeen MBA - On Campus

The Aberdeen University MBA is a one year full-time management programme which covers all the main disciplines of business management. You take leading edge modules during our intensive summer school, which is run by visiting scholars, as well as our own expert staff at the University of Aberdeen Business School. In drawing upon the international expertise of research-active staff, the programme promotes the development of cross-disciplinary knowledge in preparing students for effective management careers in both the private and public sectors. You can take this programme over a year full time or two years part time with September or January start.

Subsea Engineering is one of the most challenging areas within the energy industry due to the locations involved in minerals extraction. It is a vital part of the oil and gas industry and though it is technically challenging there is a lot of new technology coming online to improve supply and monitoring in the ocean.

You are taught by industry informed academics from two main energy hubs internationally in Global Subsea Engineering. At Aberdeen you have the combined expertise of academics who have closely followed the oil and gas since growth in the 1970s at Aberdeen from which they have been informed by industry in the city. In Perth Australia you are taught by another major university at Curtin who also work closely with their energy hub both in the Pacific and Asian regions. This partnership gives you the best teaching and future opportunities possible within the Subsea sector in your respective region. You are awarded with a degree from both institutions giving you strength in the global employment market and the level of knowledge you will carry with you.

You learn in depth skills, application and theory within subsea environments to ensure sufficient knowledge about control, risk management and maintenance, flow assurance, reliability and integrity. You can begin the programme with Curtin by taking Semester 1 and the Project module in Perth and Semester 2 in Aberdeen as an alternative. In Scotland alone there are many famous festivals such as the Fringe and Edinburgh Festival, the Fireballs Festival in Stonehaven near Aberdeen, Uphelia in Shetland, and the Cullen Skink contest in Cullen to name just a few. The programme is very exciting as it is multidisciplinary and you can choose a variety of different options in line with your own interest areas. This is not just a typical communications programme in the sense of simply writing press releases or articles, it offers you the chance to get involved in the build side of things and the actual communication of exhibitions themselves too.

The programme has been running for over 20 years at Aberdeen and it is a programme for which Aberdeen is highly regarded internationally. You are taught from our strengths which lie in property valuation, investment, economics and finance. There has always been a need for highly trained professionals in this fascinating and complex industry. You get an academic qualification from a reputable known Business School and an accredited RICS professional qualification.

You learn a considerable amount about real estate management including legal considerations, economics, investment and development, and analysis. This programme is ideal for students from the UK however we also provide an international pathway programme for international students and those wishing to pursue global interests. You are taught by the Global Real Estate Group at Aberdeen. Careers can be wide and varied including surveying, investment and property valuation, planning development and property management and others. Many of our graduates work in the city in London and other UK cities in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and so on. Many work with local practices in the UK.

Study at one of the most renowned international Institutes for health nutrition research which has continued to play an important part in research for over 100 years at Aberdeen and internationally. The Rowett Institute informs policy and continues to join the dots between diet and health. If you are interested in health and dietary factors this programme will provide much theory and research towards answers and questions you want to ask. You look at dietary assessments, macronutrients, energy balance, metabolism, micronutrients, nutrition and body influence, body composition and nutrition throughout life. You also apply statistics to uncover answers to questions.

Understanding the link between diet and health can be the differentiator between good health and issues affecting public health. This major area of interest has grown considerably over the past few years with increasing awareness of disease and its prevention and the growth in population using health services and the service ability to cope in the future. There has also been a steady increase in the amount of professionals providing consultancy and support to people who have realised the link and want to take action to become healthier with books, films and many other supporting communications in what has almost become an industry in itself.

The Rowett Institute in Aberdeen is known UK wide and internationally as a major research contributor to many discoveries within food and nutrition, informing policy, debating health and food security and many other issues relating to the food we eat and its effects on our bodies.

The aim of this innovative programme is to provide training in human nutrition for graduates in biological or other sciences. The main focus of the programme is on the relationship between diet, health and disease, and the nutritional mechanisms involved in disease development and disease with three specialist areas harnessing Aberdeen’s unique range of expertise in Metabolic Nutrition, Molecular Nutrition and Public Health Nutrition. This programme can take in in several directions after graduation.
