Institution of Mechanical Engineers Postgraduate Masters Award

The Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) offers the Postgraduate Masters Award to support students wanting to study an accredited Masters degree with the aim of becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng). You must have completed (or be expected to complete) an IMechE accredited BEng (Hons) degree with a first class or 2:1.

You’ll get £5,000 for a one-year full-time Masters. You can get the award for a part-time two-year programme as well in which case the award will be divided equally over the two years.

How to apply

To apply, you’ll need to fill out an application form along with three reference forms which you can download from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers website. Your references should be able to vouch for your academic abilities, your ability to complete a Masters and your character. You’ll be asked for details about your current educational qualifications, details of your proposed Masters degree and your financial background in the application form as well.
