The Royal Geographical Society awards Geographical Fieldwork Grants to teams of students carrying out fieldwork overseas, worth up to £3,500. They are primarily offered to teams of undergraduate and Masters students.
Grants can be awarded to teams working on one group project, or to teams whose members are each working on their own individual projects (as long as these projects are linked together under one research theme). Everyone in the team must take equal responsibility for delivering the project.
Awarding body | Royal Geographical Society |
For | Geography students (undergraduate or Masters) |
Amount | £500 - 3000 |
Deadline | 15 February |
Applications close on 15 February each year. To apply, you’ll need to submit both an application form and a form with the details of each team member, which you can find on the RGS website. You’ll need one reference from an academic at your university (who isn’t directly involved in your project) and one from a contact in the country where you’ll be carrying out your fieldwork.
