This prize is awarded by the British Association for American Studies (BAAS) for essay-length pieces written on an American Studies topic. You must be a postgraduate student at a UK university to enter. Entries should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words, and should be of a standard suitable for publication in an academic journal.
Winners will be awarded a cash prize of £500, alongside an opportunity to participate in one-to-one workshops with the editors of the Journal of American Studies, and the editors of the European Journal of American Culture.
