User: melvincole - 08 November 2012 15:02

Hey everyone! What are some good universities to do my PhD?

Preferably somewhere in Europe, Germany or UK?

Hey there!

I did my Computer Engineering PHD in Ulm University in Germany. It's one of the best in the world actually. The education that Germans offer can't be compared with any other country, especially in heavy fields like Engineering, Science and Medicine.

The good thing is that almost all of the German universities have free tuition, but the best thing to do is to get a scholarship beforehand, stay informed early and check these for regular updates https://daad.org/ and http://www.mawista.com/en/study-in-germany/

I didn't personally have a scholarship, so I had to work a part time job, which different from other countries the law in Germany allows people to work on student visas. It wasn't that easy to do both but it was the only way to finish and get my degree.

You'll love Germany!
See ya around!
