LLM Intellectual and Industrial Property Law |
| Intellectual property law regulates the creation, use and exploitation of mental or creative work and encompasses areas such as copyright, patents, designs and trademarks. Every aspect of modern life involves intellectual property, whether it is a formal research and development facility, a modern university involved in research or simply a flash of inspiration. This LLM in Intellectual and Industrial Property Law provides a distinctive, thought-provoking and practical course for people interested in or already working in this area of the law. It will enable you to make a career in environments that deal with such issues, and is also of benefit to academics and lawyers who want to specialise in this field. You will study the principle areas of intellectual property law, namely patents, trademarks, copyright and designs, the specialist area of information technology law, which all have an impact on a number of intellectual property rights and associated principles of exploitation and ethics. Some new modules on offer here, namely Ethics and Exploitation of Intellectual Property Law and Intellectual Property Litigation, are not widely available in the UK.
