MA Motion Graphics Design

Looking at the moving image in a global context helps students to develop their own creative ideas. The innovative and dynamic Motion Graphic Design course acknowledges the impact of digital technologies with Graphic Design and the specific emergence of animated graphics. Students learn to develop and research their own work as a motion designer for a wide variety of industries including television graphics, music graphics, motion shorts, title sequences for film, digital interfaces, exhibitions, museums and theatre.
Topics include:
• The Designer as Cultural Observer
• What is Cross-Cultural Graphic Design?
• Multi-Modal Communication for Designers
• Practice-Based and Professional Portfolio Development Work
• The Role of the Reader / Designer
• Does Contemporary Graphic Design Need Theory?

The visiting lecturer programme puts students in touch with design professionals and, most importantly, assists them in making contacts in the industry.
