MSc Human Computer Interaction with Ergonomics

Our MSc/PGDip/PGCert in Human-Computer Interaction with Ergonomics is an interdisciplinary programme that introduces graduates and mature students to the problems, knowledge and practice of HCI, usability and ergonomics. It combines research and practical application in studying how humans effectively interact with computers and devices in the working and leisure environments.
The course is taught through a wide variety of lectures, labs and projects. Case studies and other techniques are presented by practitioners. Students will learn a scientific human-centred approach to the design and evaluation of a wide range of interactive systems and products, and their contexts of use. The research project allows students to pursue their own interests in HCI at a high level, often working with companies.

Graduates from this MSc will be well prepared for employment in companies in the area of HCI and Ergonomics, or for progressing to a research degree (PhD). Careers open to graduates of the course include:

Usability specialist
User-centred design expert
Interaction designer
Applied ergonomist
