LLM in International Business Law by distance learning |
| The main aims of the International Business Law LLM at Aberystwyth are to provide a thorough grounding in the key areas of law which are important for modern commerce, and to develop a student's broader skills of legal analysis and research. The approach is forward looking, and the course thus places considerable emphasis on the growth areas of the future as well as on subjects and skills of traditional importance. A key feature of the course is that it combines both theoretical and practical perspectives, drawing on the practical experience of course lecturers in addition to their academic knowledge. Whilst much importance is given to imparting a knowledge of legal rules relevant to the business field, emphasis is also placed on the practical implications of the rules and the economic and political context in which they have evolved, and students will be encouraged to adopt a critical perspective. The programme will equip a student from a legal background with the knowledge and skills to develop or continue a career as a commercial lawyer. It will provide essential knowledge of the law and legal techniques for those who seek a career in other areas of commerce, such as banking, accountancy, management or consultancy. It is normal for the course to take 3 years to complete but a maximum of 5 years is available if necessary Details of the course fees are available on request |
