Energy Trade and Finance (MSc)

Course Description

The International Centre for Shipping, Trade and Finance at Cass, which provides teaching to this full-time MSc degree, was established in 1983 by Professor Costas Th. Grammenos.

The centre pioneered a uniquely integrated approach to global business and is recognised internationally for its educational excellence. The Centre also demonstrates its strong commitment to its students and the global business community by organising regular conferences, symposia and seminars.

These events feature leading figures in commerce, finance and industry, as well as government and international organisations.

In addition to its world class teaching, the centre has a significant research profile.

The Centre is internationally known for its research, teaching and international dialogue in the following areas: energy economics, shipping finance, commodity finance,
logistics and supply chain management, commodity trade, financial and commodity risk modelling and management.

This Masters course is designed to equip you for a career within the highest levels of international business, including banking and finance, transport, logistics, energy and other related sectors and industries.

The course is delivered through a variety of teaching methods including case studies and group work, covering the latest topics in international business.

The MSc in Energy, Trade and Finance is validated by the Energy Institute, of which students can become members
after graduating.

Graduates have gone on to have eminent careers worldwide in fields such as commercial banking, commodity trading, import-export, government, investment banking, e-commerce, insurance, law, management consultancy, manufacturing, real estate, shipping finance, shipping operations, logistics, transport finance and stockbroking.

Entry Requirements

A 2:1 Honours degree in a related subject; if University degree not taught in English or you have studied a 2+2 degree with just two years in the UK you will be required to provide IELTS results and possibly to resit the tests to meet our requirements: The required IELTS level is an average of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in writing.
