The DClinDent Prosthodontics programme at the University of Sheffield is a three-year full-time course designed for dentists looking to specialize in prosthodontics. In the first year, you'll receive comprehensive training in endodontic, periodontal, and prosthodontic treatments, as well as develop your clinical skills. The following two years will focus specifically on prosthodontics, allowing you to treat patients and carry out research projects. With a 1:4 tutor-student ratio, you'll benefit from excellent clinical teaching and mentoring. Upon successful completion, you'll receive the RCSEd Membership in Prosthodontics and the DClinDent (Prosthodontics) from the University of Sheffield.

About the course

In your second and third years you'll specialise in prosthodontics and gain extensive practical experience as you work with patients. This course prepares you for the specialty membership examinations in prosthodontics of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).

The DClinDent is suited to all dentists who wish to pursue specialist training in one of the restorative mono-specialities and wish to prepare for the speciality membership examinations in endodontics, periodontology and prosthodontics of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).

Entry Requirements

A university-accredited degree in dental surgery that enables the practice of dentistry and a minimum of two years post-qualification experience in any sphere of restorative dentistry, including a general dental practice.

You must also meet our health and Disclosure and Barring Service requirements for clinical courses.
