Course Description

The MSc Purchasing and Supply Chain Management provides a specialised focus on a strategically important aspect of business

This course is suitable for professionals who wish to develop knowledge, understanding and business management skills in the fields of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management. It is accredited by The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and provides a more specialist focus in line with CIPS.

The core subject areas develop transferable management skills enabling organisational and contextual linkage with the specialist areas of Procurement and The Supply Chain. The specialist subject areas aim to develop an understanding and application of the concepts and frameworks which could be taken back into the workplace. The dissertation stage enables in-depth research to be undertaken investigating organisations' challenges in this field.

Full-time Study
In full time mode, you will learn through a combination of lectures, seminars and workshop sessions. These comprise of a mix of group study, discussion, simulation and presentations of findings by teams and individuals. You will work as an individual and also as part of a team on case studies, team activities, presentations and discussions.

Access to our virtual learning environment, CampusMoodle, is also provided giving you access from home to learning materials (including videos, e-books and journals).

Distance Learning
Our supported distance learning mode of delivery allows you to study online from any location and is designed to fit in around your work commitments. You will be taught and supported by experienced industry professionals who will recreate the same challenging interactive format of the on-campus courses for those studying at a distance.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will require a good honours degree. Those who do not possess an honours degree but have a degree or degree equivalent qualification and work experience at a suitable level within an organisation for an appropriate length of time, will be considered. Qualifications from an approved professional body will also be taken into account. All international students for whom English is not their first language must provide evidence of linguistic ability, by gaining either IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent in TOEFL prior to receiving an unconditional offer of a place on the course.
