Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply

The Diploma in Procurement and Supply is for students moving into a junior or middle management procurement role, or supervising the procurement function. It is a valuable management tool which focuses on how organisational procedures and processes perform in purchasing and supply, including negotiating, planning, risk management and data analysis.

The Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply is for senior buyers, contract managers or supply chain managers
It is designed to give you the expertise to improve organisational procurement and to fulfil organisational objectives. It helps you develop the knowledge base to reduce cost, improve quality and timescales, manage the supply chain and deal with legal issues.

• Improving the Competitiveness of Supply Chains

Optional Modules (choose two):
• Category Management in Procurement and Supply
• Sustainability in Supply Chains
• Operations Management in Supply Chains

The Professional Diploma in Procurement in Supply is for senior procurement professionals or heads of department
It is targeted at building strategic procurement competence, giving managers the ability to formulate strategic direction and advice, in terms of change management, stakeholder management and team leadership.

• Strategic Supply Chain Management

Learning and teaching methods:

This qualification is in line with the government’s National Qualification Framework and contains modules on contemporary topics that are essential in procurement and supply chain management.

You may also complete a work-based project for the Strategic Supply Chain Management module, which could involve identifying a problem in your/an organisation, completing research and making recommendations for a solution.

Work Experience and Employment Prospects:

This professional stage qualification leads to corporate membership of CIPS. This award is particularly suitable if you are employed or have experience in purchasing, logistics, stores, inventory, contracts and other areas of supply chain management in the public or private sector.

Assessment methods:

You will be assessed through a final CIPS examination for each module.
