Masters study type: Full time

This master's programme is for science graduates wishing to become physiotherapists. This is not appropriate for holders of any UK or overseas physiotherapy/ physical therapy qualification.

On graduation, you will become eligible to apply for registration with the Health Professions Council and membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

About the programme


Our programme is clinically orientated with over the minimum requirement of 1,000 hours of professional practice and rigorous complementary academic content. We combine a strong emphasis on scientific research, evidence-based clinical practice and critical and analytical learning and aim to produce physiotherapists who are capable of working in the changing health-care environment.

Topics include: human anatomy, physiological systems, rehabilitation and exercise, current clinical practice issues and reflective practice.

Programme format and assessment


Taught modules; research project; professional practice placements.

Funding


The Department of Health pays tuition fees for UK and EU students, and provides means-tested bursaries for UK students only.
