Entry Requirements

2:1 Bachelors (Hons) degree in a relevant subject together with submission of a satisfactory writing portfolio. These are minimum requirements for entry. A transcript of marks demonstrating consistent performance at 2:1 level should also be provided. Non-graduates and non-subject specialists will be considered individually based on relevant experience and submission of a satisfactory writing portfolio. The writing portfolio should consist of 4000-5000 words of critical and/or creative prose. In cases where portfolios comprise or include poetry, 100 lines of poetry is considered equivalent to 1000 words of prose.

Eligibility

Scholarships worth £2,000 towards tuition fees will be available for International (non-UK) students commencing full-time Taught Masters courses or a research Programme (MPhil, LLM by Research or PhD) in September 2018.

Aberystwyth University offers a Scholarship towards Taught Masters, LLM by research and MPhil tuition fees for Aberystwyth University graduates. The Aber-Grad Scholarship applies to both UK/EU and International students. If you hold a First Class Bachelors (Hons.) degree, then the scholarship will be 20% of your tuition fees. Holders of Second Class degrees are eligible for a scholarship worth 10% of your Taught Masters tuition fee.

In order to be considered for one of these awards, an application for a place on a taught Masters degree at Aberystwyth University must be received by 27th July 2018. Separate application forms are not required. Therefore it is essential that the application for a place be received by the AU Postgraduate Admissions Office (AQRO) by the closing date.

• be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country, and intend to return there at the end of the period of study;
