This course aims to provide specific training and education for sports graduates wishing to specialise in the growing field of health rehabilitation and exercise for chronic and non acute conditions.

A key feature of the course is the combination of the theoretical and practical qualifications needed to work professionally in exercise rehabilitation. The course will be multi-disciplinary making links between medicine, kinestherapy, sport science and cultural responses to physical recreation and exercise.

It will appeal to a range of wellness professionals and practitioners wanting to progress their expertise to master’s level, enabling them to seek work across the health, exercise and wellbeing sectors. It will benefit those who are looking to extend their educational and academic skills and knowledge in relation to health, exercise and wellbeing, and will contribute to continuing professional development.

Many UK health providers and Primary Care Trusts are now introducing the expertise of exercise rehabilitation specialists to work in obesity and exercise prescription programmes as well as in cardiac rehabilitation programmes. This course will combine theoretical and practical experiences from practitioners and academics across multi-disciplinary areas such as medicine, exercise science, physiology and psychology.
