Organisational Psychology provides knowledge and expertise in the ways individual, group and organisational factors influence organisational performance, problem solving and decision-making.

This MSc programme is highly relevant to managers, researchers and consultants who are working to help organisations to develop, manage change and stay innovative.
The Master of Science in Leadership and Organisational Psychology focuses on the human side of organisations.

The overall objective of the programme is to provide students with up-to-date knowledge in research related to leadership and organizational psychology, and its application to the tasks and challenges of management and leadership in the modern organization.

Classic topics such as work motivation, job satisfaction, health and productivity and leadership will be covered as well as more contemporary topics such as decision-making, strategic thinking and creativity in organizations.

Students in the two year Master of Science program take 5 Common Courses (equals 30 ECTC credits). Four of these courses are mandatory. Students can choose one course, depending on their background and/or interests.

Some students might feel that they have already covered the area of one or more of the above mentioned courses in their undergraduate education. If so, you may apply for a course waiver.

Note that if a course waiver is granted, you need to take another common course or regular specialization course instead.

Students who need to strengthen their background in mathematics are encouraged to take a preparatory course in mathematics, offered before semester start.

Specialisation Courses

The Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Psychology programme is one of our specialised MSc-programmes. This means that all of the specialisation courses offered are consentrated around the field of leadership and organisational psychology.

You will choose 10 courses within your major, 5 of these courses are specialisation courses and 5 courses are advanced courses.

Specialisation courses provide a first introduction in the area of specialisation and are typically taken in the first year of the program.

* Psychological Measurements and Individual Differences
* Judgement and Decision Making
* Managing Differences
* Leadership

Advanced specialisation courses go more in depth into a specialisation issue and build on specialisation courses and are typically taken in the second year of the program.

* Stress and Productivity
* Creativity in Organisations
* Recruitment, Training and Development
* Counselling
* Psychology and Marketing
* Competence-based Change Management
* Economic Psychology

Master Thesis

Each Master of Science programme includes a thesis, which is a major exercise in information research and analysis. The thesis is a substantial element both in terms of workload and in terms of credits.

The thesis process starts during the first year of the programme with the "Research Methodology" course. This course will give you a solid foundation for doing your own research and the ability to be a knwoledable consumer of others' research. It will also lead to the identification of the topic ofor investigation and the research proposal.

You will work on your thesis in teams of two students.
Under the guidance of an academic supervisor, you will then work on an in-depth investigation of your chosen topic during the second year of the programme.

Career Paths

The majors' strong focus on the interaction of theory, reseach and application will open up diverse career paths, e.g. within information and knowledge management, marketing, strategy and human resource management.

Academic requirements:
A solid academic record with a satisfactory GPA. See specific GPA requirements for the different programmes.
A satisfactory score (average 600) on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). A GMAT requirement waiver may be granted under certain conditions: contact the MSc administration for details.
A satisfactory score on IELTS or TOEFL language tests.
The requirements may be subject to change.
