We have 4 Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Department of Chemistry Masters Degrees

Students in the Department of Chemistry benefit from a fast-growing programme and first-rate academic staff, as well as multiple operational research and teaching laboratories.

Chemistry has been regarded as the central science of the 21st century and is an integral part of modern science. Exciting in itself, it is also interconnected with a number of natural sciences and their subdisciplines such as physics, geology, environmental sciences, biology and medicine.

Chemistry plays an important role in pharmacology and drug discovery, nanotechnology, advanced material, space research and environmental protection. A degree in chemistry will boost your employment opportunities within the chemical and pharmaceutical industries and provide great prospects in many other fields of industry and academia.

INDUSTRY AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE CONNECTIONS

Sengen Medical (Suzhou) Co., Ltd: An SME biopharm company situated in BioBay in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). We have established strong collaborations in the area of drug research and development and Sengen provides our students with internship opportunities in Suzhou.

Institute of Nano-tech and Nano-bionics (SINANO): Our department’s close working relationship with SINANO supports research collaborations and student training. Many XJTLU students work there as intern researchers or conduct their final year projects there, co-supervised by staff from both institutions.

Thermo Fisher Scientific: We are strongly linked with Thermo Fisher, one of the world’s largest chemical manufacturers and suppliers, and are developing summer internship opportunities.

STRATEGIC RESEARCH

Our research aligns with the University’s strategic areas of development in advanced materials, energy and environmental research and nanotechnology. These have critical applications in catalysis, energy storage, development of synthetic materials with specific (bio) activities and environmental research.
