The University of Bristol is internationally distinguished and one of the very best in the UK thanks to its talented students, superb facilities and outstanding staff.
Since our founding in 1909, the University has maintained high standards and a dynamic approach to research and teaching.
Assessments by independent bodies consistently show the University to be a leader in many fields, in subjects ranging from aerospace engineering to biochemistry, classics to mathematics, clinical neuroscience to policy studies. We have strong links with leading businesses, NGOs and technology companies, some of which started out at the university. Our academic staff are recruited from all over the world, and our alumni include five Nobel Laureates. They work at the forefront of their academic disciplines - which means that many of their students do too. Study here and you can expect to be challenged and inspired.
If you like the look of our programmes, if the city appeals to you, and if you believe you have what it takes to do well here, we want to hear from you.

Our programmes
At postgraduate level, we offer both taught and research programmes in a large range of subject areas, as well a small number of other doctoral-level and professional qualifications. We have approximately 180 postgraduate programmes available for 2012/13 entry across our six faculties; Arts, Engineering, Medical and Veterinary Sciences, Medicine and Dentistry, Science, and Social Sciences and Law. You can find detailed programme information in our online prospectus.
Funding opportunities
The University offers a number of scholarships and studentships to postgraduate students. In some cases, schools and departments have access to programme-specific funding. Information on funding for UK students is available from our Student Funding Office, and international students can search for funding options on our International Office website. You can also keep up to date on postgraduate studentships available at the University by following us on Twitter.

Careers Service
The University's reputation makes its postgraduates highly attractive to employers and our employment record is among the UK's best. Many major organisations have strong links with our Careers Service and often recruit directly from campus. Our experienced Careers Advisers and other staff also offer specific information and advice for postgraduate research students, taught Masters students and international students.
Our city
When you come to Bristol you come to a multicultural city steeped in history and rich in culture. It has everything you'd expect from a big city, but human in scale, with much of the city easily travelled by foot, on bike or by bus. With its vibrant culture, historic buildings, green credentials, good standard of living and excellent transport links, it's no wonder Bristol was given the European City of the Year award.
